Ocean Safety, specialists in the worldwide supply, distribution, service and hire of marine safety equipment, has been appointed a UK distributor for Hammar, the Swedish manufacturer of hydrostatic release systems (HRU’s) for liferafts.
Ocean Safety, which supplies a wide range of safety equipment, including liferafts, to the commercial maritime sector, will now be in a position to provide a heightened level of service to their customers and achieve quicker supply and turnaround times.
“Being appointed a UK distributor for Hammar is very beneficial to our clients, including our global network of service stations who order these units as replacement parts,” says Richard Besse. “We will be able to ensure that all our customers, who include shipbuilders, design houses, service stations and marine management agencies, are supplied with g enuine Hammar hydrostatic releases on a fast turnaround. Supplying Hammar equipment is part of our full liferaft management service for all our customers and fleets.”
The Hammar HRU range includes 8 variants to suit all liferaft installations, ranging from standard release for 6 – 150 persons as well as the vacuum release units. The units trigger inflation of the liferaft when the water pressure reaches a depth of 1.5 to 4 metres. They are designed with a two year service life and need no annual servicing maintenance in that time.
Hammar, which like Ocean Safety is a pioneer in advanced lifesaving equipment, has an outstanding worldwide reputation and has supplied hydrostatic release systems for over 30 years.
Ocean Safety will also supply spare components for all Hammar release systems.
