Scania’s UK Sustainability Officer Appointed to the Board of Zemo Partnership

Tanya Neech, Scania (Great Britain) Limited’s Sustainability Officer, has been appointed to the board of Zemo Partnership, the multi-stakeholder partnership working to deliver on the UK’s transport decarbonisation objectives.

Tanya joins the 18-strong Zemo Partnership board with three other appointees – Tim Anderson, UK Head of Transport for the Energy Saving Trust, Richard Cuerden, Director of the TRL Academy, Transport Research Laboratory, and Glenn Saint, Vice President Commercial Vehicles, Arrival.

Tanya Neech brings five years of experience of working with sustainability issues at Scania to the Zemo Partnership board. During that time, her work has encompassed working with both head office and dealer staff as well as external agencies in order to define and implement sustainability policies and goals spanning every aspect of Scania's truck, bus, coach and power solutions operations, and associated services.

“Our wholehearted congratulations go to Tanya on this important appointment,” says Martin Hay, Managing Director for Scania (Great Britain) Limited. “Scania is firmly committed to driving the shift towards more sustainable transport solutions, and that includes developing our own performance from a sustainability perspective – the area in which Tanya is involved. I am sure her wide-ranging experience will add significantly to the voice of the commercial industry within the Zemo Partnership, and we look forward to supporting Tanya to enable her to fulfil her role to best effect.”

Tanya Neech comments, “Joining the board is something I am really excited about and privileged to be a part of. Scania is fully aligned with Zemo’s emission to deliver cleaner, more sustainable transport. Our Driving The Shift strategy relies on strong, solid partnerships and collaboration, which can only be delivered when we all work together. Our recent commitment to introduce a new electric product each year and our approved Science Based Targets means we are also in a great position to support the efforts of the partnership and its work programme.”
